Burton is a charming historical town known for its fine examples of Western Reserve architecture. On the south side of the square, The Century Village Museum is home to the Geauga County Historical Society. The Museum has over twenty historically authentic buildings on sixty-five acres, 20,000 museum artifacts that depict a Western Reserve Village from 1798 to 1900, and a working farm on the grounds with a sugar bush maintained for making maple syrup.
The Century Village Museum is open year round and hosts a myriad of festivals and events each year. It is a family-friendly destination that thoughtfully blends history and education into an engaging option for guests. From music festivals to Civil War reenactments, quilt shows to the Apple Butter Festival, you will find something old and something new for everyone to enjoy.
Stop at the Crossroads General Store in the Century Village. Afterwards head up town to visit the Burton Log Cabin and Sugar Camp that graces the expansive Burton Village green.
